Early Flowering and Long Blooming
Discover the earliest flowering perennial sage available. This stunning plant boasts large flower spikes that bloom over an extended season, adding vibrant color to your garden. Salvia Spring King will bloom in a bluer tone if given a little shade. To truly bring out its stunning deep purple color, ensure it gets plenty of sunlight. Regularly removing faded blooms will enhance repeat flowering. This beautiful sage not only captivates with its color but also attracts hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, making it a haven for pollinators. For maximum impact, plant it in groups of three or more at the front of your perennial border. It’s also perfect for woodland themes, cottage gardens, along pathways, and in small spaces, bringing joy and charm wherever it's planted.

Salvia General Information

Salvia are excellent, easy-to-grow plants for a summer show of intense color. Salvia perform best in full sun. A real heat lover; they respond well to shearing after blooming to prompt fresh foliage and blooms. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Salvia Plant Care

Prefers moist but well-drained soil. Can be divided every 3 - 5 years in early spring. After blooming, cut down to basal growth, as new growth will be more appealing. May flop if given too rich soil or excessive shade. Blooms more profusely with regular watering. Dislikes a spot that is damp over the winter.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!

100% Guarantee

We offer a 100% guarantee for all our perennials to reach you in good condition and to grow. If you're not satisfied, we'll reship or refund immediately. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns—we share your passion for gardening and want your new plants to thrive in your border!
