Native for late season color

One of the best native perennials for late season color. Petal ‘skirts’ surround crested buttons of brown and yellow. Each glowing petal holds hues of red, yellow and orange in clusters atop tall stems.

Helenium Red Jewel provides outstanding fall color in the garden, blending with all the hues of autumn. Striking when planted in drifts or among ornamental grasses. The tall flower stems are great for fresh bouquets.

Helenium General Information

Helenium are North American natives with prolific flowering. A good backbone plant for the late summer and fall border. Great for cutting and attractive to butterflies. Plant it and enjoy the show. Carefree. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Helenium Plant Care

Does not usually need staking. Best in a moist soil, but will tolerate short periods of dry. Plants may be pinched or cut back in early spring to encourage branching. Disease and pest free. Easy to divide in spring or fall every 3-4 years.
