Crisp White Flowers
Crisp white blossoms provide a sense of peacefulness and classic elegance day or night. Reflecting moonlight, the large flowers perfume summer nights with a sweet-honey fragrance and ethereal glow. Buddleia Pugster® White requires no deadheading or pruning and blooms continuously and abundantly. Simply plant and enjoy! Butterfly Bushes are quite drought tolerant once established in the landscape. Proven Winners® selections are trialed and tested to be colorful, long blooming, carefree and easy to grow. The unusual Pugster® name is attributed to its resemblance to a pug – the shrubs in this series are short, stocky and cute! Butterflies and hummingbirds adore the nectar-rich blossoms.

Buddleia General Information

The Pugster® Series bloom steadily from summer through frost. Buddleia are fragrant, long-blooming, attractive to beneficial pollinators and also quite deer resistant. This Buddleia is restricted from Oregon and Washington. Buddleias are shipped during our spring shipping season only. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Buddleia Plant Care

Very late to break dormancy in spring. May die back to ground in northern climates. Blooms on new wood. Heavy pruning is not needed, but may be trimmed in spring after new growth emerges, if desired. Grow in full sun with well-drained soil.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!
