Ranunculus General Information

Ranunculus flowers with their tissue-thin petals look almost too perfect to be real. Ideal cut flowers – the more you cut, the more flower stems the plant will produce. All our accent annuals are guaranteed to reach you in good condition and to grow, but we can't guarantee annuals to overwinter. Will be an annual except in zones 8-10 but can be stored over the winter in colder zones. Instructions

Ranunculus Plant Care

Hardy in zone 8-10. Plant corms in light, well-drained soil. Maintain good airflow around plants to avoid powdery mildew on foliage. Water early in the day or use drip irrigation. In colder zones, lift corms and allow to dry completely either indoors or in the sun. Store on an open tray or in a mesh or paper bag in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Before planting again in the spring soak corms for 3 to 4 hours in room temperature water. Corms will plump up, often doubling in size. If desired, you may pre-sprout the corms indoors approximately four weeks before the last frost date. Place corms with fingers down into a shallow planting tray with 1-2” of lightly moistened, high quality growing mix. Cover with 1” of growing mix. Pre-sprouted corms will bloom about three weeks earlier.
