Cultural and Growing Info is provided below.

Truly a Showstopper!
Giant it is! Softball-sized 5-6” rounded clusters of purple florets rise on thick leafless stalks above the center rosette of grayish-green, strap-like foliage. Foliage tends to die back as plants begin flowering. Protect from windy locations. We suggest staking to ensure that no damage occurs during flowering. Onion-scented foliage and flowers keep deer and rabbits at bay. 1 bulb per bag. Bulb size 20+ cm. Easy care, Alliums multiply naturally and can be left undisturbed in the same area for years. Butterflies adore Ornamental Onion! Allium giganteum, with its interesting flower shape, creates texture and depth. It adds a perky, colorful focus to your summer garden. You will love this low maintenance, dependable garden workhorse and pollinators will too!

Allium General Information

Late blooming ornamental plants that work great with early flowering perennials. Do not plant too closely together since they multiply rapidly. Plant Alliums in full sun in early fall. Water well throughout the growing season. *Please note: We are not permitted to ship Alliums to Idaho or the Washington counties of Adams, Benton, Franklin, Grant or Klickitat.

Allium Plant Care

The smaller varieties of Allium should be planted 4" deep and the larger varieties 7-8" deep. Spacing 6-8". Clumps may be lifted and divided in either spring or fall. Allium will tolerate most soils, but performs best in sandy soils. Add organic matter like compost to clay soils if needed to improve drainage and lighten the soil.
